This Mother’s Day, Justice Nest is launching a powerful 40-day campaign, #PendoLaMama |#Mama’sLove, to reunite incarcerated mothers with their children, combat poverty-driven incarceration, and break the cycle of intergenerational injustice. The campaign kicked off on 1st April 2025 gearing towards May 11 for Mother’s Day. This Mother’s Day, we’re challenging our community to rewrite that story. Every Child Deserves Their Mama’s Love.

Goal: Raise $35,000 (KES 4,500,000) to support:

✅ Release & Reunification: Free 100+ mothers imprisoned for minor offenses. 

✅ Care Packages: Deliver essentials (soap, blankets, books) to incarcerated mothers and children and those leaving prison. 

✅ Hall of Love: A digital tribute wall where supporters honor their own mothers while funding family reunions. 

✅ Child & Mother Support: Provide counseling, legal aid, and rehabilitation for 300+ affected children. 

Urgent Need: 

In Kenya, thousands of children are separated from their mothers due to petty, poverty-related offenses—robbed of the love, safety, and stability only a mother can provide. Justice Nest’s Children and Mothers Diversion Program addresses this crisis through: 

💖 Reuniting mothers with their children by offering: 

 Legal Services: Providing pro bono legal services to mothers and children to ensure fair treatment and prevent unnecessary incarceration.

 Restorative Support: Addressing the root causes of legal conflict through counseling, economic empowerment, and rehabilitation for mothers, in partnership with trusted community providers. 

 Child-Centric Interventions: Offering life skills training, psychosocial support, and alternative pathways that prioritize the well-being of children and prevent further entanglement with the justice system, in partnership with trusted community providers.
